From blind spot monitoring and parking assist systems to telescoping steering wheels and adjustable pedals, there’s no lack of innovation in today’s automobiles. Still, one of the disadvantages of owning an automobile is not having a clue as to when a passenger, pet or even yourself might inadvertently foul the interior of your ride. We’re talking about coffee spills, erupting soda cans, hamburger sauce leaks and worse yet, the surprise release of bodily fluids onto your customers seats or floors.

Urine, feces, blood, and vomit are among the distasteful results of an “accident” in a client’s automobile, and as you know, if these liquid bombshells are not removed immediately, they can leave permanent stains. Worse yet, they can create foul odors and even mold — adding insult to this interior injustice.

When such a disruption occurs in an automobile, most of your customers will immediately reach for a simple carpet shampoo product. This may clean up the area temporarily, but what these well-intentioned folks don’t realize is carpet shampoos often fail to rid the interior of harmful bacteria, which prompts an odor to unpack its luggage and stick around.

Here at Detail King, we sell Bio-Zyme Enzyme Automotive Interior Cleaner — a synergistic blend of bacterial enzymes that breaks down organic stains, grease and oils, thus eliminating odors naturally. This highly concentrated solution contains between 150 and 200 billion organisms per gallon — and that’s a crowded neighborhood of beasties intent on eradicating smells.

In fact, our cleaner is so concentrated that it requires only 16 ounces of Bio-Zyme per gallon of water. That means a gallon of our concentrate gives you eight gallons of product.

Here are a few tips for successfully using Bio-Zyme:

  • Always pretest Bio-Zyme in an inconspicuous area in order to insure colorfastness
  • Pre-spray the surface to be cleaned, especially on carpet and fabric
  • Allow Bio-Zyme to soak for 10 minutes to a half hour, and then clean as usual
  • In some cases it may work well to spray Bio-Zyme on the surface, agitate it for a minute or so, then allow it to sit for 10 to 30 minutes.
  • In extreme cases, use the product full strength, covering the area with a towel in order to hamper evaporation.

As an aside, it may help to know that Ozone also helps resolve nuisances brought about by spills containing bacteria molecules that causes odor in the first place. For more information, read The Benefits of Using an Ozone Generator in Your Auto Detailing Business.

  2. RUSSELL AUTO DETAILING says:

I HAD A CLIENT VEHICLE THAT HAD MILDEW OR MOLD ON THE CARPET. SPRAYED BIO-ZYME AS DIRECTED FULL STRENGTH SINCE THE SMELL HAS BEEN THERE FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE I WAS CALLED. THE CLIENT EVEN USED BLEACH ON THE CARPET TO TRY AND HELP BEFORE I WAS CALLED. I CLEANED WITH BIO-ZYME LET IT DWELL AND THEN CLEANED WITH PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH CARPET CLEANER WITH EXTRACTOR AFTER THE CARPET DRIED I SPRAYED ONE MORE TIME WITH BIO-ZYME AND LEFT THE TRUCK TO THE OWNER. AFTER IT ALL DRIED A SECOND TIME THE OWNER ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO MORE SMELL. SO I THINK BIO ZYME HELPED OUT EMENSLY IN THE AID OF THE SMELL AND REMOVAL OF THE MOLD OR MILDEW THAT WAS IN THE CARPET.
    THANKS DETAIL KING.
